Happy Thanksgiving

I know I usually post on Thursdays but yesterday was Thanksgiving and I wanted to fully be in the moment and make memories with my family. On that note, I have been so blessed this past year to have wonderful people and opportunities in my life. I am most grateful for my family because they have been my support system my entire life and I am really starting to see the effects of that and appreciating it so much more than I used to. I am also grateful for every person that has ever been in my life because they have helped shape who I am today. A few months ago I was feeling really down on myself because I realized that I am going to have to say goodbye to my boyfriend for 2 years and my very best friend lives on the other side of the country. Then I got to thinking "how would my life be if I didn't have these people?" and I honestly have no idea and I wouldn't as for it any other way. That made me appreciate them so much more because I know that they were placed in my life to help me through the tough times along with my family. I love them both so much and I am so fortunate to have them. I am also grateful for the opportunity I have been given to go to school. I am so excited to be in a new place with new people and more opportunities to learn and grow.  I'll be posting something about that when I move which will really explain everything. Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Don't forget to stop and smell the roses every now and then; you'll never see the beauty around you if you don't look. I'll be back with another dose of Vitamin "C" next week!

When life gives you (sour) lemons...

This week started out very difficult. My dad was having health problems, my work days felt longer than ever before and on top of that I locked my keys in my car....and it was only Tuesday! Since then I have been determined to turn it all around. Yesterday morning I got up and I said I am going to have a great day. I really did. This week I really learned what Hannah Montana meant when she said "Life's what you make it, so let's make it rock" The last few days held little victories for myself and others who I surrounded me. I got most of my college stuff figured out, all of my housing plans have been finalized and one of my students finally got off the bus by herself today! The sweet moments in my life have balanced out the sour ones and have put a better taste in my mouth as the week comes to a close. Make sure you always have sugar and water on hand because when life gives you some of it's sour lemons, through time, patience and a little hard work, your lemona...
