Master The Day!

I need to be a little more adventurous. I have my routine and that is good but I could put myself out there a little more because nothing grows in the comfort zone! So yesterday me and some friends went to a Lip Sync battle and somebody was going to pay the performance fee for all of us to do it. This is something that usually I would have just sat back and watched. In the moment I decided that I had nothing to lose! So we went up on stage to perform "What makes you beautiful" by One Direction. It was embarrassing and wasn't the greatest performance of my life but I had so much fun and that will be such a fun memory to look back and laugh about.

I have made a major change in my life in the last few weeks (literally). I changed my major to General Studies but I'm the type of person who doesn't like to waste time or money on something I know I won't use so I keep thinking about what I should try to pursue and this was so not the week to do that. I'll be honest you guys I have been through a huge emotional storm this week. I felt like I was losing my mind! A very wise woman told me that it's okay to not have everything figured out right now and to just take things one day at a time. Then later I was on Pinterest and I found this quote and I finally just realized that I need to stop trying to figure out my life and start living it instead.

This week I have learned a lot about time. "Time can heal most anything and just might find who you're supposed to be." (Yes I just quoted Taylor Swift) Time can heal you. Time can scare you. Time will go by quickly or drag on for what seems like forever. Time will pass and bring you a new day full of more opportunities to help someone and sometimes that someone is yourself. Some of you may feel that there is never enough time. Some may feel that there is too much time. I feel like time is a tool. The way we use our time shows the world who we are and what is most important to us. There is so much potential inside of us and with time we begin to see it for ourselves.

I love you all so much and I'll see you soon for some more Vitamin "C"!

When life gives you (sour) lemons...

This week started out very difficult. My dad was having health problems, my work days felt longer than ever before and on top of that I locked my keys in my car....and it was only Tuesday! Since then I have been determined to turn it all around. Yesterday morning I got up and I said I am going to have a great day. I really did. This week I really learned what Hannah Montana meant when she said "Life's what you make it, so let's make it rock" The last few days held little victories for myself and others who I surrounded me. I got most of my college stuff figured out, all of my housing plans have been finalized and one of my students finally got off the bus by herself today! The sweet moments in my life have balanced out the sour ones and have put a better taste in my mouth as the week comes to a close. Make sure you always have sugar and water on hand because when life gives you some of it's sour lemons, through time, patience and a little hard work, your lemona...
